Congratulations!

Tymon Ferenc de Laat is the winner of our Artists’ Acrylic Video competition with his video Melikewinsor and wins an artists’ break to Italy!

Judging the Competition

The winner of the Artist Acrylic Microsite competition was judged by Marion Boddy-Evans, artist, writer and Painting Guide at About.com. Here is how Marion selected the winning video by Tymon Ferenc de Laat.

Congratulations to all the finalists and thank you to everyone who participated for sharing your creativity.
'The winning video was chosen because it so strongly conveys the sense of enjoyment that the activity of painting can bring, along with showing the creation of a painting that combines control and fluidity. It shows how painting isn’t all about the end product, but about the artist’s interaction with their materials. The video is also structured and varies the camera angles and pace, giving a sense of the artist’s energy while telling a story.'
